Hey there, funnel enthusiasts! Tyson here from Repair My Funnel, ready to walk you through an awesome new feature in ClickFunnels 2.0. If you’re all about automation (and let’s be honest, who isn’t?), you’re going to love the latest update: the ability to trigger workflows based on broadcast email activity. Think of it as your secret weapon to keep your audience engaged and your funnel flowing smoothly. Let’s jump in and see how you can set this up step by step.
First things first—what exactly are workflow triggers, and why should you care? Workflow triggers in ClickFunnels 2.0 allow you to automate actions based on specific customer behaviors. With the new broadcast email triggers, you can now create workflows that kick off when someone opens, clicks, or receives a broadcast email. This gives you more control over how you interact with your audience, making your marketing efforts more personalized and effective.
Step 1: Accessing the Automations Tab
Start by navigating to the Automations tab in your ClickFunnels 2.0 dashboard. You’ll find it in the left-hand navigation menu. Once there, click on Workflows to see all the workflows you’ve set up (or start a new one if you’re feeling ambitious).
Step 2: Adding a New Workflow or Selecting an Existing One
If you’re starting from scratch, click on Add New Workflow. If you already have a workflow you want to modify, just select it from the list. Either way, you’ll be taken to the workflow editor, where the magic happens.
Step 3: Adding a Trigger Based on Broadcast Email Activity
Now, let’s add that shiny new trigger. At the top of the workflow editor, you’ll see a section labeled Workflow Triggers with a little lightning bolt icon—click on that. In the dropdown menu, you’ll notice three new options: Email Broadcast Click, Email Broadcast Open, and Email Broadcast Sent. Choose the one that suits your needs. For this example, let’s say you want to trigger a workflow when someone clicks a link in your broadcast email.
Step 4: Configuring the Trigger Settings
Once you’ve selected the trigger, you’ll need to choose the specific broadcast email you want to monitor. Click on the dropdown to see a list of your recent broadcasts and pick the one you’re targeting. You’ll also see an option to include or exclude anonymous contacts—this is totally up to you, but I usually recommend excluding them for more accurate tracking. Don’t forget to activate the trigger and save your changes!
Step 5: Activating the Workflow
Before you get too excited, make sure your workflow is actually live. Head over to the right side of the screen, click on Status, and toggle it to Enable. Boom! Your workflow is now active and ready to start working for you.
Now that you’ve got the basics down, let’s talk about how you can use these triggers in the real world. Maybe you want to automatically enroll someone in a course when they click a link in your email, or perhaps you’d like to send a follow-up sequence to those who opened but didn’t click. The possibilities are endless! The key here is to think about what actions are most valuable to your business and set up workflows that support those goals.
If your workflow isn’t triggering as expected, don’t panic. First, double-check that the trigger is set up correctly and linked to the right broadcast email. Also, make sure the workflow is enabled. If everything looks good but it’s still not working, it might be worth testing with a different broadcast or reaching out for support.
And there you have it—everything you need to know to start using broadcast email triggers in your ClickFunnels 2.0 workflows. With these new tools in your arsenal, you can automate more of your marketing, engage your audience more effectively, and keep your funnels running like a well-oiled machine. Don’t be afraid to experiment and see what works best for your business. And remember, if you ever get stuck, your friendly neighborhood funnel tech team at Repair My Funnel is just a click away.

Can I use multiple triggers in one workflow?
Absolutely! ClickFunnels 2.0 allows you to add multiple triggers to a single workflow. Just keep adding triggers as needed to customize your workflow to perfection.
What happens if I accidentally trigger the workflow on an old broadcast?
No worries—just go back and edit the trigger settings to link it to the correct broadcast. Remember, you can always disable the workflow while you make adjustments.
How do I know if my workflow is active?
You can check the status of your workflow by looking at the Status toggle on the right-hand side of the workflow editor. Make sure it’s set to Enable to ensure it’s live.
Can I trigger a workflow based on a specific link click?
Unfortunately, ClickFunnels 2.0 doesn’t currently support triggering workflows based on specific link clicks within broadcast emails. You can trigger workflows when someone clicks any link in a broadcast, but it’s not possible to specify a particular link at this time.
What if my workflow isn’t triggering at all?
Double-check that the trigger is correctly set up and linked to the right broadcast email. Also, ensure that the workflow is enabled. If it’s still not working, consider testing with a different broadcast or contacting support for help.
