How to Create Discount Codes in ClickFunnels 2.0 (Step-by-Step Guide)

Discount codes can be a powerful tool for increasing sales and offering special promotions to your customers. With ClickFunnels 2.0, you can now easily create and manage discount codes directly within your funnel, making it easy to offer percentage-based or fixed-amount discounts for products in your store.

In this step-by-step guide, we will walk you through the process of setting up discount codes in ClickFunnels 2.0.

Why Use Discount Codes in ClickFunnels 2.0?

Creating discount codes allows you to:

  • Offer special promotions during holidays or events.
  • Encourage customers to purchase by offering a percentage or dollar amount off.
  • Drive more sales and conversions by offering exclusive deals.

Step-by-Step Guide to Create Discount Codes in ClickFunnels 2.0

1. Add the Discounts App to Your Workspace

Before you can create discount codes, you need to add the Discounts App to your ClickFunnels 2.0 workspace.

  • From your ClickFunnels dashboard, click the + icon next to “Apps” in the left-hand navigation.
  • This will take you to the App Center.
  • Locate the Discounts app and click on it.
  • Click Add App to install the discount feature in your workspace. This will take a few moments to complete.

Once installed, the Discounts section will now appear in the left-hand navigation under “Store.”

2. Create a New Discount Code

  • Click on the Discounts tab from the left-hand navigation.
  • At the top of the page, click on the button to Create New Discount.

Here, you will start by filling in the details of your new discount code:

  • Name: Choose a name for your discount (e.g., “Summer Sale” or “Holiday Promo”).
  • Discount Code: This is the actual code customers will enter at checkout (e.g., “SUMMER2024” or “SAVE10”).
  • Discount Type: Select whether the discount will be a percentage (e.g., 20% off) or a fixed amount (e.g., $50 off).
  • Discount Value: Enter the value of the discount.

3. Choose Products for the Discount

Next, choose which products or collections will be eligible for the discount:

  • Select whether the discount will apply to All Products or to Specific Products.
  • If you choose specific products, you will be prompted to select them from your product catalog.

4. Set a Timeframe (Optional)

If you want the discount to be available for a limited time (e.g., a holiday sale or flash sale), you can schedule it:

  • Toggle the Schedule Discount option.
  • Set the Start Date and End Date for when the discount will be available.

5. Advanced Options (Optional)

You can customize additional settings for your discount code:

  • Minimum Spend: Set a minimum order value required for the discount to apply (e.g., “Spend $100 to use this discount”).
  • Usage Limits: Restrict how many times a customer can use the code. For example, limit it to a single use or allow multiple uses.

Once you’ve configured all settings, click Create Discount to save.

How to Enable the Discount Code Field on the Checkout Page

After creating your discount code, you need to enable the coupon field on your checkout page for customers to apply it.

1. Go to Your Funnel

  • From the ClickFunnels dashboard, navigate to the funnel where you want to offer the discount.
  • Open the funnel and go to the Order Form step where customers will make their purchase.

2. Edit the Checkout Element

  • Inside the funnel editor, locate the Checkout Element on your page (e.g., it might be inside a popup or a separate section).
  • Click on the Checkout Element and select the Order Summary section from the settings.

3. Enable the Coupon Field

  • In the settings of the checkout element, find the option to Enable Coupon Field.
  • Toggle this option to ON, and then click Save.

Once enabled, customers will see the coupon field on the order summary at checkout, allowing them to enter and apply their discount code.
