How to Set Up Course Completion Certificates in ClickFunnels 2.0 | Easy Guide

If you’re running a course on ClickFunnels 2.0 and want to add a little something extra for your students, setting up a course completion certificate is a great idea. Certificates are a simple way to recognize your students’ progress and give them something tangible (or at least downloadable) to show off once they’ve made it through. It’s a recent feature in ClickFunnels 2.0, and I’ll walk you through exactly how to get it up and running.

Whether you’re brand new to ClickFunnels or have been around for a bit, this guide will cover all the basics and a few details to help you make sure it’s set up right. Let’s jump in.

Step One – Finding the Courses Section in ClickFunnels 2.0

The first thing you’ll want to do is head to the Courses section in your ClickFunnels 2.0 account. This is where all of your courses live and where you can manage, update, and tweak your content.

Here’s how to get there:

  • Log into your ClickFunnels dashboard and look over to the left-hand menu.
  • You should see Courses listed there – go ahead and click it to open the course overview page.

Now, if you don’t see “Courses” in the menu, it could be that the feature isn’t added to your workspace yet. No big deal; it’s easy to set up, which I’ll walk you through next.

Step 2: Adding the Courses App to Your Workspace

If “Courses” isn’t showing up in the dashboard, that’s just because it’s not active in your workspace yet. Here’s how to add it:

  • On the left-hand side of the dashboard, find the + icon and click it. This will take you to the App Center.
  • In the App Center, look for Courses. If it’s already installed, it’ll have a green checkmark. If not, you’ll see an Add Courses button instead.
  • Just click Add Courses, and ClickFunnels will install it for you. Once that’s done, you’ll see Courses appear in your main navigation menu.

That’s it. Once the app is active, you’ll have everything you need to create and manage courses in ClickFunnels 2.0.

Step 3: Selecting a Course for Certification Setup

Now that you’ve got Courses set up, it’s time to choose the specific course where you want to enable certificates. This is the course where students will get their completion certificates after they go through all your material.

Here’s what to do:

  • Go to the Courses section and find the course you want to use.
  • Click on the gear icon next to that course (on the right side of the screen) to open up its settings.

Double-check that you’ve chosen the correct course, as this is the one where students will get their certificates once they finish. You can repeat this process for other courses if you have more than one that needs certificates.

Step 4: Enabling Course Completion Certificates

Alright, now for the main event: actually turning on those course completion certificates! This part is pretty quick, and ClickFunnels has made it as straightforward as possible.

Once you’re in the settings for the course you picked, here’s what you’ll do:

  • Scroll down in the settings panel until you see an option labeled Customer Center.
  • Near the bottom, you should see a new toggle option for enabling completion certificates.
  • Switch this toggle on. When it’s active, it’ll show a blue background, which means certificates are now enabled for your course.

Once you’ve done this, students who complete all the material in this course will automatically get a certificate.

Step 5: Updating the Course to Finalize Settings

Don’t forget to save your work! Once you’ve toggled on the certificates, you’ll need to update the course to make sure your changes stick.

Here’s how to do that:

  • Click on the Update Course button. You’ll find it somewhere on the screen (usually near the bottom or top, depending on your layout).
  • After you hit update, ClickFunnels will save your changes and bring you back to the main course page.

You’ll also see a confirmation message saying that the course has been updated successfully. This is just ClickFunnels’ way of letting you know everything went through, and you’re all set on that front.

Step 6: Customizing the Certificate’s Appearance

ClickFunnels keeps things simple when it comes to certificates. Right now, there aren’t a ton of customization options – you’re pretty much limited to just adding your logo to the top of the certificate. It’s basic, but it still helps your brand stand out a bit.

If you want your logo to show on the certificate, here’s what to do:

  • Go to Sites in the left-hand menu of ClickFunnels.
  • Click on Overview, then find and click on the three dots in the corner (these open additional settings).
  • Select Site Settings from the drop-down menu that appears.

In Site Settings, you’ll see an option to add a Site Header Logo. This is the image that will appear at the top of your certificates. Just upload your logo, and you’re good to go.

If you don’t add a logo, the certificate will display a default gold star icon at the top instead. Totally up to you, but if you want that professional touch, adding your own logo can be a nice detail.

Step 7: Adding a Logo to the Certificate

Alright, now that the certificate feature is enabled, let’s make sure it’s working by viewing it from the student’s side. It’s good to know exactly what they’ll see when they finish the course, so you can feel confident everything’s set up right.

To test this out:

  • Open the course as if you’re a student.
  • Start marking lessons as complete (or, if it’s a real course with actual content, just go through the material).
  • Once everything is completed and you’ve hit 100%, you should see a little notification pop up on the screen. This notification lets students know their certificate is ready.

If you don’t see the notification right away, no big deal – just refresh the page, and it should show up. ClickFunnels sometimes needs a quick refresh to show updates, so give it a moment if you don’t see it immediately.

Step 8: Viewing a Certificate as a User

So, your student sees the notification saying their certificate is ready. Now, they just have to click on it to view or download their shiny new certificate!

When they click on the notification, it’ll take them straight to the certificate. From there, they can:

  • View it on-screen
  • Download it as a PDF to keep on their device

It’s straightforward and gives students a little extra sense of achievement – something simple that can make a big difference in how they view your course.

Step 9: Finding and Downloading Certificates in User Settings

Now, let’s say your student wants to come back and view their certificate later. ClickFunnels makes this easy by storing certificates in the user’s account settings.

Here’s how they can find it:

  • In their ClickFunnels user dashboard, they’ll click on the profile icon (the little person icon next to the bell).
  • From there, they can go to My Account.
  • In the account settings, they’ll find a section for Courses and Downloads. Here, they can see all their course enrollments, including completed ones.
  • Next to each completed course, they’ll see an option to view or download the certificate again.

By tThis is helpful if they ever want to re-download it or just need a reminder of their progress. The certificate is always accessible, which makes it a lasting part of their experience with your course.

roubleshooting these common issues, you can get back to capturing high-quality screenshots in no time!

Final Thoughts

And that’s it! You now have a complete setup for course completion certificates in ClickFunnels 2.0. Adding certificates is a simple but powerful way to recognize your students’ efforts, giving them a sense of accomplishment and something they can show off – or just keep as a personal reminder of their progress.

Even though ClickFunnels 2.0 keeps it straightforward (for now) with limited customization, the setup process is quick, and the feature does its job well. As ClickFunnels rolls out more updates, we might see additional customization options, but for now, you’ve got the essentials covered.

So, go ahead and put those certificates to work, and let your students celebrate their success with every completed course!

Additional FAQs

Can I customize the design of the certificate in ClickFunnels 2.0?

Right now, customization is pretty limited. You can add your logo at the top, but the overall layout and design of the certificate can’t be changed just yet. ClickFunnels might add more options in future updates, but for now, it’s a straightforward certificate with room for your branding.

What happens if I don’t add a logo to the certificate?

If you skip the logo, ClickFunnels will place a default gold star icon at the top of the certificate. It’s a decent placeholder, but adding your own logo can give it a more polished, branded look.

Where can students find their certificates if they don’t download them right away?

Good question! Students can always access their certificates from their account settings. They just need to go to their profile, select “My Account,” and find the Courses and Downloads section, where all their certificates are stored for easy access.

Can I enable certificates for multiple courses?

Yes, absolutely. You can enable certificates for as many courses as you like. Just go into the settings for each course, toggle on the completion certificate option, and update the course. Each course will have its own completion certificate that students can earn.
